Doctors who are a resident in New Zealand and hold registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) are eligible for the wide range of short term locum placements (under 3 months) we can offer in General Practice or your medical Specialty.

International Medical Graduates need to commit to working in NZ for a minimum of 3 months. There are various pathways to registration which may be relevant – this is best discussed on an individual basis. The Comparable Health or Competent Authority pathways are often used for GPs or Registrars, while the Locum Tenens pathway allows a doctor with approved Specialist qualifications to work as a locum GP or Specialist in New Zealand for up to 12 months. Locum Tenens registration can be processed quite quickly, so we can have you living and working in New Zealand within a matter of weeks.
