Dermot joined Ochre in November ‘16 as Group CEO. Dermot has worked in the healthcare sector for close to 10 years and has managed over 1,000 staff in Australia and New Zealand, including GPs, nurses, mental health professionals and a range of other allied health professionals. In Ochre, Dermot’s core role is to lead overall strategic direction and ensure the track record of the Ochre Health Group continues to grow through the provision of community healthcare services that are clinically safe, easy for patients and other customers to access and are operationally efficient.
Dr. Ross Lamplugh

Ross is one half of the co-founding duo of the Ochre Health Group. With twenty years of clinical experience, including ten years as a GP anaesthetist in rural and remote communities, Ross is a true bush doctor at heart, with equal amounts of red dirt and red wine running through his veins. Now residing in rural Tasmania with his wife and three daughters, Ross remains passionate about improving the health of rural and remote communities. As Chairman of the Ochre Health Group, Ross ensures that the Ochre Health Group continues to provide quality health services to the communities it services.
Dr. Hamish Meldrum

The better looking half of Ochre Health Group’s founding duo (don’t tell Ross), Hamish is a GP Obstetrician with 15 years experience in Urban and Rural practice in both Australia and New Zealand. Multi-talented, Hamish wears two hats within the company, that of Director on the Ochre Health Group Board and also as Director of Medical Services, where he acts as the Doctor Advocate for Ochre Recruitment locums, should they experience Clinical issues whilst on placement. Our doctors enjoy the security of knowing they have an Owner Doctor actively working on their behalf if clinical issues arise that require representation.

Mal joined the team in August 2011, bringing with him extensive project management and service delivery experience. Prior to joining the Ochre Recruitment team, Mal completed a Bachelor of Arts/Environmental Studies before working in telecommunications service management, marketing campaigns and project delivery. Mal is passionate about building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders and is committed to ensuring that they all receive an outstanding experience with Ochre Recruitment. Mal is also focused on quality assurance and ensuring that Ochre Recruitment continually improves in the pursuit of excellence.

Group Marketing Manager

Kathy is a qualified marketing and events specialist with formal qualifications in marketing and more than 15 years’ experience across a breadth of industries, including Human Resource, Sports and Entertainment, Fashion, Broadcasting and Hospitality.

Kathy is responsible for the marketing and communication of the Ochre Group brand. She manages all integrated marketing communications, ensuring that these activities positively reflect brand values, corporate image and core values to Ochre Recruitment and Ochre Health.
Prior to Ochre, Kathy’s career path included managing corporate sponsorship portfolios that involved negotiating contracts and executing public campaigns with the AFL and The Victoria Racing Club, including running key campaigns over the world renowned Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival.

A highly passionate and motivated person who believes in a strong team ethic, Kathy has a commitment to providing exceptional service and execution in everything she does.

Kathy is not yet a fully integrated Tasmanian (having only moved here in 2010), but has compensated for this by exploring Tasmania at every possible chance with her young Tasmanian family.

Team Leader

Stuart joined Ochre Recruitment in early 2009 in a Para-Recruiter role a position in which he held for nine months before being promoted to Recruitment Consultant. With a background in Marketing and HR, Stuart brings to the team youthful enthusiasm and a willingness to succeed at everything he does.
Thrown in the deep end that is locum recruitment and its hectic pace, Stuart has thrived on this dynamic style of recruitment and prides himself on making sure all the pieces of the “placement puzzle” come together in time! Stuart loves all sports, a good laugh and building rapport with doctors, staff and clients alike.
Stuart holds RCSA Member status (MRCSA).

Team Leader

Luke, the NZ office’s Team Leader and a very experienced consultant, has had a long career in medical recruitment. His grounding in the industry well over a decade ago was with the Medical Council of New Zealand, which gave him an in-depth knowledge of the New Zealand registration process and systems.

Luke proceeded to work in medical recruitment in Australia, and in 2004, returned to work in New Zealand for NZ Locums and NZ Medics, placing GPs in urban and rural areas, and arranging hospital placements for junior doctors right through to senior consultants.

Luke was a key member of the team that launched Ochre’s NZ office in February 2009. As Senior Recruitment Consultant and Team Leader he is responsible for the daily management and vision of the New Zealand office. Luke is a major contributor to the ongoing success of the New Zealand office and has increased brand awareness and market penetration in NZ. Luke’s the early bird of the office. A keen cyclist, he speeds in on his mountain bike most days.

Luke holds RCSA Member status (MRCSA).

Rachael joined our team in January 2012 having previous experience in the retail sector and working in Aged Care. Rachael has a flair for assisting people and solving problems – great skills for recruitment!
Rachael recently completed her Cert III in Business Management which has assisted her in her current role.  Rachael is an important member of the Hobart team and Instrumental in assisting the management team!

Ally Casey joined Ochre Recruitment in September 2014, bringing over ten years of experience as a recruitment consultant. She has been working in medical-specific recruitment since the start of 2010. Ally has assisted both Australasian and International Medical Graduates from PGY3 to Consultant level to secure locum and permanent positions in all Specialist areas, placing them in locations throughout Australia. Ally gets great enjoyment from the long lasting and loyal relationships she has with both Clients and Doctors. She values an individual approach and believes in finding the perfect opportunities for her Doctors – she will never take the ‘one fits all’ approach.

Ally has lived in Sydney for almost 20 years and loves the mix of harbour, beaches and the fast paced vibrancy of the big city. She has travelled the world extensively and is hoping her next big trip will take her to the southern US coast, Mexico, Cuba and the Caribbean islands.

Matthew joined the Ochre team in November 2014, as a consultant in the GP/VMO Locum recruitment team. In 2017 Matthew will be joining the Hospital team.
Matthew has previous experience in doctor recruitment both in Australia and his original home – the UK. He’s now settled in Sydney and has moved to Manly for the sunshine and the amazing beach, though he thinks he’s still the pastiest person there with his English complexion. Matthew is a big fan of both American sports and, of course, rugby.

Anna joined Ochre Recruitment at the beginning of 2013 as a Para Recruiter to help the team in the New Zealand office, and proved herself to be a key force in the smooth running of the office, working with both doctors and clients. In mid-2015 Anna embraced her new role as a Recruitment Consultant and is enjoying building on her existing relationship with our clients and doctors. Anna came to Ochre from eight years working in theatre as a Production Manager/ Tour Manager, touring shows around New Zealand and internationally; including Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia and the United States of America. Anna's communication skills and enthusiasm for finding the right match for both doctor and practice make her a natural recruiter.

Melissa joined the Ochre team in April 2015 in the role of Para Recruiter and recently was promoted into the GP Consultant division. With a background in hospital recruitment in addition to a variety of roles as an EA, in theatre and in front-line administration she’s keen to dive into her new role. She has a very strong customer service philosophy and loves the challenge of finding the best fitting solution for clients.
Melissa has ties to both Australia and New Zealand. Born in Tassie and raised in Queensland, she returned to her roots to raise her family in 2007. Her kids also have Maori heritage and the whanau are learning Te Reo to keep their cultural inheritance alive. Melissa does take some time out for leisure – her family enjoy camping, and she’s a keen body boarder and baker too.

Sally-Anne hails from the small island of Jersey in the Channel Islands but is now considered an “Australian Native” and has settled down in her new Island home being Tasmania. She joined the Ochre Recruitment Team in August 2016 and has a strong focus on customer service and forging long and lasting relationships. Sally-Anne comes from a predominantly advertising industry background and in more recent years, worked for a Pharmaceutical Company in an Account Manger role. In her spare time she is currently writing a novel, loves travelling and anything outdoors, loves her animals and enjoys the odd glass of wine! With her “can do” attitude, you’ll be glad to have Sally-Anne working along-side you to get the job done!

Amanda joined Ochre’s Sydney office in November 2014, working in a Para Recruiter / Assistant role. Amanda has worked in the travel, construction and IT industries, and brings 9 years administration of experience to her role. Amanda would love to become a recruitment consultant in the future. She makes the most of her weekends in the city and can often be found in one of Sydney’s many cafes.

Melissa has a background in Management Consulting as an Executive Assistant supporting Marketing, HR, Digital Strategy and Capability.
