Experience country hospitality and a diverse scope of practice within this lovely rural town that is packed full of history. The newly built hospital has 2 ED & 15 acute beds, as well as residential aged care; palliative and renal facilities. The Medical centre is open Monday to Friday and team of 3 doctors provide service coverage for GP services and 24/7 Emergency Department. With a large Aboriginal population (Approx. 37%) our doctors are also pivotal in closing the gap with Aboriginal Health Services.
As part of the shared roster you will provide GP consults, share ward rounds and a 1:3 on-call service for the ED. The weekends and after-hours rosters are very manageable thanks to the excellent support team. You will only be called out for Cat 1 & Cat 2 patients and enjoy excellent referral networks to other rural and tertiary facilities.
You will enjoy a variety of allied health services and pathology and radiology services at your fingertips as well as a number of visiting specialists including psychiatry, endoscopy, ophthalmology, dermatology
Experience the beauty of outback Australia with the iconic Darling River at your finger tips. This inviting town is located in the North West region of NSW; approximately a 4 hour drive from Dubbo. With a hot and dry climate, the swimming pool and bush pub are often the best places to keep cool. Due to the ongoing FIFO nature of this role there is great potential to develop long-lasting relationships with patients and to watch them grow along their healthcare journey
When you are not at work you may enjoy a walk through the Back O' Bourke Exhibition Centre and discover the town's rich history and many galleries. Drop in a fishing line or enjoy one of the many cultural walks. Just a short 50 minute drive South and you will find the unique Gundabooka National Park with a rugged mountain rising 500m where you can get close up views of some ancient aboriginal rock art.
To apply for this role candidates must hold current work rights and Registration with AHPRA. Due to the remote nature of this role it is essential that applicants hold a current ALS and recent Emergency experience.
