This is an exciting opportunity for you to embark on your Psychiatry training in a convenient and friendly town. You will be an integral part of the team providing mental health services to the 170,000 residents in the catchment area.
This progressive and collaborative mental health team are dedicated to providing excellent teaching and enjoy varied work environments including inpatient, community, alcohol and other drugs service, kaupapa maori services as well as early intervention and liaison services.
This great sophisticated little city has plenty to see and do with a friendly atmosphere, surrounded by lovely rural landscapes, and many get-away spots. It is a wonderful spot for families with excellent education and affordable housing. The town is rich in arts, culture and history, and of course, passionate about their Rugby. You can be on the west coast beaches in half an hour and it’s an easy drive to the central North Island ski fields too! Why not take a weekend trip to the Wairarapa and its world class wineries?
An ideal candidate would hold current NZ work rights and general registration, however consideration may also be given to candidates who are eligible to obtain registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand before December 2020
