The opportunity

This is an exciting for your to undertake a Psych rotation in a convenient and friendly town with a set seven day roster to ensure rest & recovery. You will be an integral part of the team providing mental health services to the 170,000 residents in the catchment area.

This is an excellent opportunity to explore mental health training as part of your core rotations or to secure your Psychiatry training with non-training and college accredited training positions available.

The location 

This great sophisticated little city has plenty to see and do with a friendly atmosphere, surrounded by lovely rural landscapes, and many get-away spots. It is a wonderful spot for families with excellent education and affordable housing. The town is rich in arts, culture and history, and of course, passionate about their Rugby. You can be on the west coast beaches in half an hour and it’s an easy drive to the central North Island ski fields too! Why not take a weekend trip to the Wairarapa and its world class wineries?

An ideal candidate would hold current NZ work rights and general registration, however consideration may also be given to candidates who are eligible to obtain registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand before December 2020
