You will be assisting the Director, Staff Specialists and Senior Medical Staff in ensuring the General Medicine services provided by the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service are of the highest standard and delivered in an efficient and effective manner given available resources.
This is a 70-bed hospital and offers a range of general and specialist inpatient and outpatient services including emergency, general medicine and surgery, basic orthopaedic, clinical investigation, obstetrics, maternity, gynaecology, high dependency and coronary care, palliative care, medical imaging, pathology and paediatrics.
There is a 29-bed mixed General Surgical and Medical Ward and a four bed High Dependency Unit where patients may be held pending retrieval, or for close observation not possible on the wards. Additional beds are available for paediatrics. The hospital has a busy surgical outpatient clinic reviewing a wide variety of surgical conditions.
Locuming in Gladstone gives you access to seven tropical islands with numerous local activities available including fishing, snorkeling, and scuba diving. There's also an abundance of wildlife in its three national parks; with secret beaches, sand dunes and estuaries offering a safe haven for many of Australia's native flora and fauna.
To be successful in applying for this role, you must have MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
Ideally you will also have current AHPRA registration and a minimum of two years practice within the Australian healthcare system.
