This is an ideal role for medical officers contemplating joining the training programme and are happy to commence in an unaccredited position, with a view to moving into an accredited position once joined the programme.
Whilst initially working in the in-patient unit, attachments in community psychiatry are also available with this supportive team who are here to encourage and help you to develop your career.

The Psychiatric Unit that supports a community based philosophy, maintaining small numbers, with a high occupancy and intensive treatment program. You will be fully supported by 10 consultants and one house officer. Working under the direction and supervision of a Senior Medical Officer, you will enjoy a wide variety of inpatient cases and will be required to undertake assessments, make diagnoses and develop treatment and management plans in consultation with the patient/ family/ whanau.
