The opportunity

Join a team of 6 specialists, radiation therapists, medical physicists, nursing and admin staff working in a collegial environment in a great, purpose built facility. With multiple positions and flexible contract arrangements available the team are also open to 12 month fixed term contracts if you are unable to commit to this permanent role.

The department has a wide-bore CT-simulator, 2 Versa HD linear accelerators each with a six degrees of freedom couch, ABC deep inspiratory breath hold, HDR Brachytherapy, a Monaco 5 treatment planning system and MOSAIQ patient management system. Stereotactic programme currently includes treatment to central nervous system/ spine, bone, nodal and lung metastases. The team use HDR brachytherapy to treat gynaecological, prostate and skin malignancies, the latter using Valencia applicators; available to both the public and private sector.

The location

This beautiful city is located on the east coast of New Zealand’s North Island. You will enjoy a sunny climate, which is ideal for growing avocados, grapes, kiwifruit, citrus, and other subtropical fruits for which the region is famous for. The region is well known for its timber, paper and dairy products and is a short drive from white sand beaches and hiking tracks. Only 2hrs from Auckland and 3hrs from the ski fields you are spoilt for choice with weekend getaways!

Essential criteria

To apply for this role you must have excellent communication skills; hold FRANZCR and be familiar with IMRT, VMAT, IGRT and SBRT techniques. An ideal candidate would hold current work rights and Vocational Registration with the MCNZ, however consideration will also be given to applicants that are eligible to obtain these.
