In this solo doctor town you will experience a diverse scope of practice from children right through to the elderly; and everything in between. The General practice operates 3 days per week and is co-located with the hospital as you would also be on call for all ED presentations between 8am and 6pm. After hours coverage is provided by nearby towns and the supportive nursing team
You will have plenty to keep you busy as anything and everything could walk through the door. The hospital is equipped with 3 ED beds; 3 Acute care beds and a 10 bed residential aged care ward. If you enjoy a diverse population and variety in your work this is a great spot where you can start your day in the ED; do a ward round by lunch and then be in the General Practice for the afternoon.
Located a 5 hour drive south west of Toowoomba on the Gwydir Highway this small town has a population of 650 with approx. 40% of residents identifying as Aboriginal. With nature reserves, opal fields and Warrambool State Conservation Area nearby, you will be charmed by the river city's agricultural landscape and tranquil rural lifestyle. Relax and unwind in the Artesian Bore baths or take the fishing rods as this is the perfect river town where you can drop in a line. Experience the cultural houses and museums where there is an extensive collection of local Aboriginal arts, crafts, and jewellery as well as plenty of colonial history to take in.
To apply for this role candidates must hold current work rights and Registration with AHPRA. Due to the remote nature of this role it is essential that applicants hold a current ALS and recent Emergency experience.
