The Opportunity
FACEM locum Doctors often head to Western Australia. Bunbury Emergency Department is a large referral centre. Generally GP run hospitals, with referrals coming from as far south as Augusta, Margaret River, up to Harvey and inland as far as Boyup Brook.

Bunbury ED has approximately 37 beds over Resus, Acute, Mental Health, Paediatrics, fast track and short stay. Bunbury Regional Hospital is a 190-bed facility with a 24hr specialist-led emergency department, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / High Dependency Unit (HDU), medical and surgical wards, subacute rehabilitation ward, paediatric ward, maternity ward, acute psychiatric unit, theatre complex and outpatient areas.
Bunbury Regional Hospital is co-located with St John of God Bunbury private hospital at the South West Health Campus. Some services are provided in partnership with private providers.
The ED has five resus beds, including a paediatrics bay, six acute beds and four paediatric beds, as well as two mental health rooms and three isolation beds. Add to that a fast-track area for minor presentations (three beds and five rooms) and a ten bed short-stay unit.

Located on the South Coast of Western Australia, Bunbury is a picturesque harbour city on the Southwest coast of WA, 175km or It's a 2 hour drive from Perth. Ideal for locum Emergency Medicine Doctors, especially FACEM's that want to get out of the city and make a difference in regional and rural areas. Blessed with spectacular and pristine beaches, abundant opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, on and off-road cycling and world class surfing spots.
Bunbury also renowned for its divine cuisine, welcoming locals, and award-winning wines in nearly every direction. Southwest residents have a high sense of community and rate their region as a safe place to live and raise children, with excellent access to services such as health and education contributing to their positive lifestyle and general wellbeing.
The Margaret River Wine region, being around 45 minutes to 1 hour from Bunbury is stunning with beautiful scenery, great wine, food and beaches.
