The opportunity
Cobar Hospital is looking for GP ED locums from Feb 2024- onwards. Must have extensive emergency medicine experience with at least one of the following; REST, REACT, CEMP and ALS2. Doctor is required to be on site for 8am ward rounds followed by ED reviews. Finish time to be negotiated with the site. Must return to ED when requested to do so by the nursing staff. On call 24/7. Travel and Accommodation included.
The location
Cobar is a town in central western New South Wales, Australia whose economy is based mainly upon base metals and gold mining. The town is 712 km by road northwest of the state capital, Sydney. It is at the crossroads of the Kidman Way and Barrier Highway. This beautiful stretch of Outback NSW is home to ancient Aboriginal rock art, fascinating museums, gorgeous wetlands and historic architecture.
Essential criteria
To be successful for this position, you must have;
- Full Australian working rights & specialist registration on AHPRA.
- Extensive emergency medicine experience
- ALS2 or equivalent
- Experience in rural remote settings
- Recent Experience working in ED
