The opportunity
This practice is a modern purpose-built medical centre (2018). This is a great chance to visit a beautiful area and really redefine what a good work-life balance looks like. As an accredited rural medical training centre there are also teaching opportunities for interested candidates to provide mentorship to medical students.
The group practice provides excellent nursing/admin support and an onsite practice manager.
The location
Located in a peaceful rural town, just inland off the coast and less than three hours from Christchurch. The old-style friendliness of residents is hugely appealing – with a small town that is large enough to still allow privacy and a life outside of work. Affordable property and excellent high-schooling and university options available nearby mean the area is becoming a popular place to live and work.
These days Waimate is a centre for livestock farming, berry growing and forestry. It also has a microclimate that produces excellent pinot noir; visit one of the local boutique wineries for a taste. Great mountain biking and walking tracks locally. New Sports Stadium offers all sorts of sporting opportunities and friendly locals will make you to stay longer in Waimate.
