Locum VR GP AMS - Halls Creek, WA

The opportunity

The region has an Indigenous population of 5000, however, the clinic sees around 1/5 of the population. The GP will either be the sole doctor or work with another GP, patients are first seen by Aboriginal Health Clinicians and then referred to a doctor for further assessment and treatment of health checks, along with running the CDM programme, GP care plans and skin checks.

The location

Based in the heart of the Kimberley, Halls Creek sits on the northern edge of the Great Sandy Desert and is a gateway to natural attractions including the striking form of the white quartz China Wall, the orange and black striped domes of the World Heritage-listed Bungle Bungle ranges of Purnululu National Park.

Essential criteria

• FRACGP, VR, or equivalent qualifications; and General or Specialist registration with AHPRA.
• Experience in working within an Indigenous health setting is preferred but not essential.
