Locum VR GP AMS - Mount Isa, QLD (MMM7)

The Position:

This locum role offers the opportunity to apply your skills and knowledge in a unique setting, where high presentations of chronic illness require GPs to be both sensitive and understanding to encourage community members to seek treatment. You will work with a dedicated team that includes GPs, Registered Nurses, Aboriginal Health Practitioners/Workers, Midwives, Allied Health professionals, visiting Medical Specialists, and Administration staff. The clinic uses Communicare software, and you will be part of a collaborative environment focused on delivering comprehensive care. The role involves 20-minute minimum consultations, with clinic hours Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and there are no emergency department duties, on-call shifts, or weekend work required.

MM7 location. This location qualifies for additional financial incentives through the Workforce Incentive Program (WIP). Essential criteria

• Holds specialist General Practitioner registration with AHPRA
• Fellowship with RACGP or ACRRM
• Australian citizen or permanent resident
• Strong primary care experience in rural or remote settings, ideally in Indigenous health
• Cultural awareness and understanding of the unique challenges facing remote Indigenous communities
• Experience working with Communicare Software
