The opportunity
We 're seeking a PGY5 + Doctor for locum cover in Port Lincoln. There is no requirement for after-hours work and shift times are 8am - 8pm. Accommodation, flights and car hire are provided.
There are two senior doctors and one junior doctor rostered on at all times between the two wards. EWA is for the more acute general medicine patients while EWB is for the longer-stay, palliative and geriatric patients.
There is a general physician who works M-F 8am - 4pm , Sat 8am-12 noon and is available on call 24 hours a day.
EWA usually has between 7-11 patients and the RMO will assist as well as the Physician who is usually very hands-on and very capable.
There are some special care type patients but anyone requiring HDU or ICU is retrieved to Adelaide.
