The Opportunity
Nambour General Hospital is a friendly acute teaching hospital, affiliated with the University of Queensland. The hospital has 39 beds including a 1-bedded ICU and a 1-bedded CCU/HDU, and a 9-cotted SCBU. All major specialties are represented apart from neurosurgery and cardiac surgery. ICU, theatres and the Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) were moved to a new purpose-built block in 22. DEM is staffed by eight emergency physicians, sees 32 patients each year with a high trauma load, and receives patients from a helicopter critical care transport service.
Seeking a locum PHO / Reg level for the Emergency Department, this is a 24 hour roster, 7 days per week. Includes night shifts.
The Location
“The Nam” is set in green hills 15kms inland of the surf beaches of the Sunshine Coast and 1kms north of Brisbane. Inland lie rainforests and waterfalls in the Blackall Range, a few kilometres south the Glass house Mountains and Pumicestone passage, and a few kilometres north Noosa, and beyond that Cooloola National Park, Rainbow Beach and Fraser Island. The Sunshine Coast is – not surprisingly – Australia’s favourite holiday destination.

To be eligible for this role you must have

- Australian working rights
