The opportunity
Locum in the Macksville Emergency Department as a Registrar or CMO (PGY4+). The hospital is a 42 bed level 2/3 rural centre for low complexity services and procedures. The emergency department sees 35 to 45 patients per day and is supported by a specialist 40 hours per week. Variety of shifts across multiple dates with travel and accommodation provided.
1000-2000 @ $140 p/hr
2230-0830 @ 180 p/hr
The location
Macksville is a friendly community 5 hours drive from Sydney based along the Pacific Highway. The town is easily accessible from larger metropolitan centres with flights available through Coffs Harbour 50 minutes north of the community. Situated along the banks of the Nambucca River, you can enjoy horseback riding, canoeing or taking a stroll through the main street taking in the historic pubs including the Star Hotel dating back to 1885.
Essential criteria
To be eligible for this locum you must have
- Full working rights in Australia
- Full AHPRA registration
- Emergency Medicine experience
- The ability to work independently in a peripheral facility (preferably with practical knowledge of intubation)
- PGY4+ with at least 6 to 12 months critical care experience (Emergency, Anaesthetics or ICU).
