The Opportunity
Katherine Hospital is 60-bed non-specialist public hospital that services Katherine and the surrounding region and remote areas. Services include a 24-hour ED, Maternity Care, Pathology, General, Surgical and Childrens Ward. Inpatient Allied Health services including nutrition, physiotherapy, radiology, OT, speech pathology, social workers and Aboriginal Liaison officers, are also available on the wards.
This is a great opportunity for a PGY3+ doctors who enjoys working at night and has a passion for tropical medicine.
The Location
Katherine is situated on the beautiful Katherine River with an abundance of mountains and hot springs to relax in. Take some time to hike and explore the natural landscapes of the Northern Territory or canoe down the Katherine River. Whether you are into art galleries, thermal springs, hiking, ancient Aboriginal cultures or good food and wine, there is something for everyone in Katherine.
Essential Criteria
You must be registered with AHPRA, have working rights in Australia and be a PGY3+ doctor. You will have recent rural experience and be comfortable with working as a solo ED doctor on night shifts. You'll have up to date trauma training (adult life support, peads life support, neonatal resus).
Most importantly you will have a positive attitude and love what you do.
