If you’re an experienced Rural Generalist or passionate GP who wants to feel genuinely valued — both professionally and financially — we’d love to welcome you to Ochre Health Medical Centre Scottsdale and Ochre Bridport, just an hour from Launceston and only 20 minutes apart.

This is real rural medicine, with the flexibility to shape your days across two distinct practice environments:

·       Scottsdale: A purpose-built, mixed billing clinic with full VMO opportunity at the adjacent hospital.

·       Bridport: A laid-back, GP-only clinic just steps from the world-renowned Barnbougle golf course — and yes, we’ll cover 10 rounds a year to keep your swing as sharp as your clinical skills.

Whether you’re keen to be part of the Scottsdale Hospital VMO roster, prefer pure general practice in a beachside town, or want a balance of both — we’ve built a role that works for you.

Practice at one or both clinics — your choice

8am–6pm weekdays + optional Sat clinic (or tweak it to suit your life)

General Practice + VMO = serious earning potential

Full autonomy over days, sessions, and scope

What’s On Offer:

·       Excellent earning potential depending on how many sessions/VMO shifts you take on

·       Up to $20k incentive payment just for being awesome (and joining us)

·       $1200/day on-call VMO rate (Scottsdale Hospital)

·       35% service fee, dropped to 25% for after hours, aged care, home/hospital visits

·       RA3/DPA = 30% moratorium reduction (10 years down to 7)

·       On-site Medical Educator & Supervision for RVTS, RGTS, AGPT, ACRRM IP & RACGP FSP

·       Eligible for government incentives like RGPSI: $100,000 over 5 years

·       10 rounds covered at Barnbougle Dunes or Lost Farm (Bridport)

·       Car & accommodation provided for VMO shifts – and we cover the fuel, utilities, and FBT

·       Excellent CDM program so you can focus on patients, not paperwork

·       Brilliant support from practice nurses, admin, and clinical leads

The Locations:

Scottsdale is a welcoming rural town in Tasmania’s northeast with all the perks of proper Generalism — both in the clinic and at the hospital. You’ll enjoy wide open skies, a relaxed lifestyle, and proximity to mountain biking trails (hello, Derby), vineyards, and waterfalls.

Bridport, on the other hand, is a seaside gem. Golf lovers will know it as the home of Barnbougle, one of the world’s top-rated courses. It’s also ideal for those chasing balance: ocean views, fresh seafood, and a supportive GP-only clinic where you can simply run things your way.

Together, they offer the perfect mix of challenge, charm, and choice.

What You’ll Need:

✔ AHPRA General or Specialist Registration

✔ ALS2 certificate + recent emergency experience (within 18 months)

✔ A decent golf swing (or a willingness to learn)
