The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Rural General Practitioner to build a successful practice as a GP VMO in Scottsdale, only 1 hour from Launceston. Our well-equipped, purpose-built facility boasts five consulting rooms, a three-bay treatment room, a procedure room and on-site pathology. Operating hours are 8am-6pm Monday to Friday, with a Saturday clinic from 9am-11am but of course, this can be flexible to your needs. 

Ochre Health Medical Centre Scottsdale has a formal contract with the Tasmanian Health Service to provide VMO services 365 days per year across ATS CAT 1-5. The Scottsdale Hospital has 19 acute care beds, an Outpatient and Emergency Service, low-risk maternity, physiotherapy, radiology and visiting services. Whilst you are the driver of your own schedule, sessions and days, GP VMOs are encouraged to take advantage of two income streams- general practice and VMO at the Scottsdale hospital, making this a fantastic opportunity.

  • $1200 per day on call, regardless if you see minimal patients
  • 35% service fee with reduced service fee of 25% for after hours, residential aged care, home and hospital visits
  • RA3 location -30% reduction in your moratorium, a reduction from 10 years to 7 years, and a DPA location.
  • We have a fantastic Medical Educator on site, which can provide supervision for RVTS, RGTS, AGPT, ACRRM IP and RACGP FSP.
  • GRIP payments as MMM5 location, up to $23,000 in your 5th year
  • Comprehensive clinical protocols and internal supply network for all necessary PPE and other equipment
  • Car, accommodation, are provided for VMOs practitioners with all fringe benefits covered by Ochre including fuel, FBT and utilities. .
  • Excellent CDM program to support your delivery of chronic disease management
  • Doctors have full autonomy and flexibility. You have complete control of your sessions, days and hours.

Suitability
