We’re seeking a Rural GP VMO to join our well-established medical centre and provide VMO services to Scottsdale Hospital, which is just next door. Whether you're seeking full-time, part-time, or something in between, this is a role where you set the pace — and the rewards are real.

What’s on offer

  • Dual income streams — combine GP billings and VMO on-call
  • $1,200 (increasing soon!) per day on-call rate (even if you're not called in)
  • GP VMOs typically earn $350K+ depending on sessions and VMO shifts
  • $2000 site visit grants through the People Project, for eligible applicants
  • DPA & MMM5 location — access to:
    • 30% moratorium reduction (10 years down to 7)
    • GRIP payments – up to $23K/year
    • ACRRM IP, RACGP FSP, RVTS, RGTS, AGPT pathways eligible
  • Car, accommodation, fuel & utilities covered for VMO work

  • Supportive CDM program led by experienced nurses

About the practice & hospital

  • Purpose-built clinic with 5 consulting rooms, 3-bay treatment room, procedure room, and on-site pathology
  • Operating Mon–Fri 8am–6pm, Sat 9am–11am (can be adjusted to your needs)
  • Scottsdale Hospital:
    • 19 acute care beds
    • Emergency department (ATS CAT 1–5)
    • Outpatient, maternity (low risk), physio, radiology, and visiting specialists
    • Formal VMO contract 365 days/year with the Tasmanian Health Service

What you’ll need

  • General or Specialist Registration with AHPRA
  • ALS2 (or equivalent) and recent emergency experience (within the last 18 months)
