The Role:

Are you ready to shape the future of rural medicine while enjoying one of Tasmania’s most scenic landscapes? This isn’t just a clinical role—it’s a leadership opportunity. As a GP VMO Supervisor in Scottsdale, you will mentor the next generation of rural doctors, providing clinical guidance and pastoral support to up to four registrars across RACGP and ACRRM pathways. If you are passionate about medical education and high-impact rural health, this is your next chapter.

  • Exceptional Remuneration: Minimum $2,000 per day guarantee with a negotiable package for the right candidate.
  • Teaching Incentives: Protected teaching time at $200 per hour, plus eligibility for supervisor payments and rural teaching incentives.

  • VMO Support: Provide back-up on-call support at the local hospital, fully integrated with the Tasmanian Health Service (THS).

Skills & Experience

  • Fellowship: FRACGP or FACRRM with Specialist Registration (AHPRA).
  • Mentorship: Supervisor status (or eligibility to become a supervisor) for RACGP/ACRRM.
  • Clinical Readiness: Current ALS2 (or equivalent) and comfort in rural hospital settings; THS credentialing (or willingness to obtain).
