The Opportunity

Young Health Service is a 32-bed facility with 21 hospital care beds, 5 maternity beds, and 6 day surgery chairs. They provide a full range of community health services including community nursing, allied health, and mental health services.

This modern hospital operates 24 hours and is seeking an experienced CMO to assist in their Emergency Department, which is equipped with telehealth cameras to connect the team to specialists through the Critical Care Advisory Service (CCAS). This opportunity has come about due to the location management provided by Medical Directions which saw the need for an additional doctor to be introduced.

With only 2 hour drive northwest of Canberra, this is an ideal FIFO opportunity. 

The role:

• will cover the Ward and swing to ED when ward duties are complete
• ensures that all admitted patients will have a clearly documented medical assessment and treatment plan
• participates in handover with RMCS which supports overnight admissions
• will be involved with clinical reviews and areas of improvement initiatives.
• requires suitable experience to cover ward
• 4 days / week - Friday - Monday
• 8 hours per day
• 0830-1630
• 0800-1600 on one day per month to attend clinical review meeting
• Accommodation and travel provided
