GP/ED - Cooma, NSW

The Opportunity

Cooma is a 20 bed district hospital situated in the Snowy Mountains of NSW with a friendly, experienced and supportive team of frontline staff. We service a large rural/farming region and provide emergency care, inpatient and obstetric services and elective surgery. During the relevant seasons (which cover approx. 10 months of the year) you can expect to see a significant amount of Ski and Mountain Bike related injuries ranging from aches and sprains to closed head injuries, chest, abdominal and vertebral trauma.

There are 3 day shifts: 7.30-15.30, 1000-2000, 1430-2230 and 1 night shift 2200-0800. Generally the 1000-2000 shift is the Senior MO.

The Location

Cooma is a busy, centrally located tourist town being about 1 hour from the mountains, 1.5 hours from the beautiful Sapphire Coast and 1 hour from Canberra. It is the alrgest town in the Snowy Mountain region and often visited by tourist all throughout the year.

Essential Criteria

Must be registered with AHPRA and hold relevant experience with in emergency space
