The opportunity 

This practice has a great team and they aim to deliver high-quality comprehensive care with expertise in all aspects of general practice. They also have a great support staff for you to work alongside.

The clinic is open from Mondays to Fridays and there will be requirements to work the occasional weekend clinic (2 hours).

The right candidate must be hard-working, motivated, enthusiastic and eager to learn or teach, collegial and a “people person”. This is an amazing opportunity to join a fantastic medical group and further your rural medical career. Ideally, they are looking for a permanent GP with at least two years of experience.

The location 

New Zealand’s West Coast is a remote area known for its friendliness, kiwi can-do attitude and remarkable scenery. Beautiful red flowered rata forest covers the hills, and colonies of seals, penguins and other unique NZ wildlife dot the coastline. This location is home to around 5,000 residents in the town and 9,000 in the greater district. Westport has a commercial port and airport, with daily flights to and from the capital city, Wellington.

Essential Criteria

An ideal candidate would hold or be eligible for NZ work rights and registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
