The opportunity
Regular locum work for experienced Rural Generalist Doctors. This is a hospital based role involving ward rounds and ED coverage. Cherbourg Hospital is an impressive modern facility which welcomes regular visiting specialists and offers the community a range of allied health, outreach and community health services.
The location
Cherbourg is a unique and historic Aboriginal Community located off the Buyna Highway and is under 2 hours from the ever-popular Sunshine Coast north of Brisbane. Very close to the dam wall of Bjelke-Petersen Dam, Cherbourg is the oldest and largest government settlement in Queensland. You may also work in neighbouring Murgon, an established and charming farming community.
Essential criteria
To be considered eligible for this role, you must be a VR General Practitioner with Emergency skills and a recent ALS2 or equivalent. An Advanced Skill in Indigenous Health would be well received, but is not essential.
