Locum VR GP AMS - Alice Springs, NT (MMM6)

• $1875 per day on weekdays / $1500 per day on weekends

The Position:

This locum opportunity involves working as the solo GP, with the potential for a second GP to be rostered during weekdays, supported by two nurses and a nurse manager who are local to and familiar with Alice Springs. When the clinic is busy, the nurse will triage patients, with walk-ins only, serving the entire community. Emergency qualifications are not required, but prior experience is desirable, as it is expected that Cat 3 & 4 patients will be seen. Alice Springs Hospital and its full Emergency Department are only a 3-minute drive away. The clinic is equipped with an X-ray machine and ultrasound, which you may be required to use. The clinic operates with Best Practice software and offers support from GPs, nurses, and Aboriginal Health Workers. Approximately four patients are seen per hour, with opening hours Monday to Friday from 12 PM to 8 PM and weekends from 12 PM to 4 PM. There is no on-call requirement.

MM6 Location. This location qualifies for additional financial incentives through the Workforce Incentive Program (WIP). Essential Criteria

• FACRRM/FRACGP or VR qualifications 
• Unrestricted AHPRA Registration
• Prior experience in Aboriginal Health or in Urgent Care Clinics desirable
• NT Working With Children Check / Ochre Card
