The Opportunity

We are seeking experienced GPs to provide culturally appropriate healthcare to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities on the Far South Coast of NSW. This full-time locum position offers a Monday to Friday schedule from 9 AM to 5 PM, giving you the opportunity to explore the region’s stunning landscapes and pristine beaches on your weekends.

The clinics provide comprehensive general practice services alongside medical and dental care, supported by a range of allied health professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care. You will work with a dedicated team of GPs, nurses, and Aboriginal Health Workers, using Best Practice software, with a minimum appointment time of 20 minutes. There are no emergency department duties, on-call requirements, or weekend work, allowing for a balanced and rewarding locum experience.

$1600 is paid daily alongside travel, car and accommodation support. 3 weeks minimum is preferred.

How to get there

Batemans Bay is accessible by road from Canberra (approx. 2 hours) or Sydney (approx. 4 hours). Regular flights are available from Sydney to Moruya Airport, which is only a short drive from Batemans Bay. Ochre Recruitment arranges all travel and accommodation for your placement.

Essential criteria:

·        Holds specialist General Practitioner registration with AHPRA

·        Fellowship with RACGP or ACRRM

·        Australian citizen or permanent resident

·        Strong primary care experience in rural or remote settings, ideally in Indigenous health

·        Cultural awareness and understanding of the unique challenges facing remote Indigenous communities
