The Opportunity

Here you will provide essential GP locum support to a clinic offering high quality medical services, mental health support, family wellbeing and allied health support to Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people. There is Best Practice software in use in this nurse-led clinic, with minimum consultation times of 15 minutes being offered. Working alongside the permanent part-time GP, there is then 1-2 GP locum doctors required weekly along with wrap around support.

This support includes 2-4 AHP’s, Social and Emotional wellbeing workers, onsite Drug and Alcohol councillor, Clinical Psychologist, Psychiatrist and admin and PM support. As for the nurses, this usually includes 2-3 RN’s onsite every day and they assist with health assessments, care plans and patient history. There is a procedure room available for biopsy / skin checks and women’s health if you have any areas of special interest.

You’ll consult Monday to Friday, with no emergency department duties, on-call shifts, or weekend work required. Minimum commitment of three weeks is preferred but two weeks can be considered.

Essential criteria

•    Fellowship with RACGP and/or ACRRM

•    Current AHPRA Specialist GP Registration

•    Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident

•    Experience in rural or remote primary care, ideally Indigenous health, preferred

•    Cultural awareness and respect for Aboriginal communities
