The Position:

This locum opportunity involves working in a region with an Indigenous population of around 5,000, where the clinic serves approximately one-fifth of the population. The GP will either work solo or with another GP, depending on the dates. Patients are initially seen by Aboriginal Health Clinicians, who then refer them to the GP for further assessment, treatment, health checks, and management of the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) program, GP care plans, and skin checks. The clinic uses MMEx software, operates Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and offers 20-minute minimum consultations. There is no emergency department, on-call, or weekend work,

MM7 location. This location qualifies for additional financial incentives through the Workforce Incentive Program (WIP). Eligible GPs can receive significant financial support based on the area's classification. Essential Criteria:

  • Holds specialist General Practitioner registration with AHPRA
  • Fellowship with RACGP or ACRRM
  • Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • Strong primary care experience in rural or remote settings, ideally in Indigenous health
  • Cultural awareness and understanding of the unique challenges facing remote Indigenous communities
