The Opportunity

This locum opportunity involves working in a region with an Indigenous population of around 5,000, where the clinic serves approximately one-fifth of the population. With a permanent GP and GP registrar working in the clinic, there will be up to 4 GPs in the main clinic at any given time. There will also be 4 nurses and 4 Aboriginal Health Workers. Patients are initially seen by Aboriginal Health Clinicians, who then refer them to the GP for further assessment, treatment, health checks, and management of the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) program, GP care plans, and skin checks.

Outside of working in the main clinic, once a fortnight you will need to visit the Ringer Soak community for 1 day. Flying out and covering the hours of 8am – 3pm, there is 1 GP, 2 nurses and an AHW providing support.

Both clinics use MMEx software and you will be working Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with no on-call, afterhours or weekend work. 20-minute minimum consultations are offered as a minimum and client numbers can vary. With a local hospital in the same area, Emergency cases are able to present there directly opposed to this service.
