The Position:
This clinic operates under a nurse-led model, where nursing staff play a key role in supporting GPs through pre-screening, chronic disease reviews, and care planning. Nurses and Aboriginal Health Practitioners (AHPs) provide advanced care following CARPA guidelines and work closely with GPs to ensure comprehensive patient management. GPs primarily see scheduled patients for planned care and those referred by nurses and AHPs. The clinic runs Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, using PCIS software, with a minimum appointment time of 20 minutes. There is no ED, on-call, or weekend work, as acute presentations are managed by nurses, who also coordinate with the NT Health deputising service (DMO on-call) and CareFlight for patient evacuations when required. You'll be part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with other remote communities to deliver high-quality, culturally appropriate care.
