The opportunity

This role offers the opportunity to use the skills and knowledge you may not have in an urban setting, with high presentations of Chronic Illness, GPs need to be both sensitive and understanding to continue encouraging community members to come in for treatment. Working with a team that includes GPs, Registered Nurses, Aboriginal Health Practitioners/ Workers, Midwives, Allied Health professionals, visiting Medical Specialists and Administration staff.  

The location

Mount Isa is home to lakes and rivers, most notably the freshwater Lake Moondarra which hosts a fishing classic every October. An oasis in the Outback, the town boasts fine dining, an excellent assortment of retail options, and outdoor activities to make this locum truly memorable.

Essential criteria

• FACRRM/FRACGP or VR qualifications 
• Unrestricted AHPRA Registration
• Best Practice software experience
• Previous experience working within Indigenous communities desirable
