Locum VR GP - Cairns

The Opportunity

As a locum GP you will join a team that consists of 3 full time and 1 part time GP, plus a full time GP registrar. They have full nursing and admin support plus a procedure room and treatment room. Using Best Practice software, the usual doctors see 6 patients per hour but for the locum doctor there is flexibility to block out appointments and reduce to overall load per hour. They see a wide demographic range from young families to the elderly and the practice is located in a lower socioeconomic area.

Opening hours are 8am- 5pm Monday to Friday and 8am-12pm Saturday, with usual sessions from 8am-12pm & 1.30pm-5pm and Saturday shifts are optional. It is a is bulk billing clinic that pays $150 hr or 65% of gross billings whichever is greater.

The Location

This laid back and tropical city is at the base of Cape York Peninsula and is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. Life here is best enjoyed outdoors, whether that is snorkelling the reef, walking in the Daintree National Park or pottering down the esplanade to reach the swimming lagoon.

Essential Criteria

To be eligible for this locum you must have working rights in Australia, specialist registration on AHPRA and a fellow of RACGP.
