The Opportunity

Ochre Medical Centre Calwell is a mixed billing practice located in a busy shopping centre in the south of Canberra. Conveniently located with ample free parking and easy access to childcare facilities. You would be working as a solo GP Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm, alongside a highly experienced practice manager, support staff, and registered nurse.

The clinic uses Best Practice software, and services the town with a population of 5730 people. Offering $1200 daily, this is a fantastic opportunity for a GP comfortable working solo.

Established in 2011, the Calwell Centre was the first Ochre to open within Canberra - providing a wide range of medical services, including general medical assessments, immunisations, skin checks, women's and men's health, mental health ,pregnancy care and chronic disease management.

The Location

Calwell is a suburb in the Tuggeranong district of Canberra, in the Australian Capital Territory. Shaded by Australian natives as well as lush European greenery, Calwell’s long tree-lined streets are quiet, and full of filtered sunlight. 

Located further out from the city centre, this suburb is tidy, tranquil, family-friendly, and affordable – and being located close to the Monaro Highway, it does have direct access to Canberra’s CBD.

Calwell is a great area for nature lovers and those who like to keep fit outdoors, as it adjoins Tuggeranong Hill Nature Reserve. 

Essential Criteria

To be eligible for this position, you must have full Australian working rights, unrestricted AHPRA registration and VR qualifications. Must also be comfortable as a solo GP.
