The opportunity
Take on a rewarding locum role in Gapuwiyak (Lake Evella), a welcoming Yolŋu community in East Arnhem Land. You’ll work with a supportive team of nurses and Aboriginal Health Practitioners, providing essential primary healthcare to the community.
This role involves a mix of chronic disease management, preventative health, and acute presentations, with 20-minute consultations ensuring quality patient care. The clinic runs Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm, with no on-call, after-hours, or weekend work required.

About the location
Gapuwiyak, also known as Lake Evella, is a community of around 900 people located on the shores of a freshwater lake in East Arnhem Land. The community is known for its rich Yolŋu culture, strong connection to country, and welcoming spirit.

Essential criteria
- Specialist GP registration with AHPRA
- Fellowship with RACGP and/or ACRRM
- Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Primary care experience in rural/remote settings, ideally Indigenous health
- Cultural awareness and respect for working within Aboriginal communities
