The opportunity

Take on a rewarding locum role in Mount Isa, where you’ll join a collaborative Aboriginal Medical Service team dedicated to improving community health outcomes. You’ll work alongside GPs, nurses, Aboriginal Health Practitioners, midwives, allied health professionals, visiting specialists and admin staff in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.

The clinic operates Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm, using Communicare software with a minimum of 20 minutes per consultation. There are no on-call, after-hours or weekend requirements, and a minimum commitment of three weeks is required.

Essential criteria

  • Fellowship with RACGP and/or ACRRM
  • Current AHPRA Specialist GP Registration
  • Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Experience in rural or remote healthcare, ideally Indigenous health
  • Cultural awareness and respect for working within Aboriginal communities
  • Familiarity with Communicare software desirable
