Locum VR GP Indigenous Health - Napranum, QLD

The Position:

This health service stands as a beacon of excellence in Indigenous healthcare, having earned multiple accolades for its outstanding contributions. Deeply committed to delivering high-quality, culturally sensitive care, the organisation ensures that Indigenous voices are central in shaping health policies and programs.

You will be working with another GP, supported by nurses and Aboriginal Health Workers. The clinic utilises Best Practice software, consultations are a minimum of 20 minutes, with operating hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. There are no emergency department duties, on-call shifts, or weekend work required. Minimum commitment is three weeks.

Napranum is a small, remote Indigenous community located in Far North Queensland, near the western coast of the Cape York Peninsula. Essential Criteria:

• Holds specialist General Practitioner registration with AHPRA
• Fellowship with RACGP or ACRRM
• Australian citizen or permanent resident
• Strong primary care experience in rural or remote settings, ideally in Indigenous health
• Cultural awareness and understanding of the unique challenges facing remote Indigenous communities
