The opportunity
This is a rewarding locum opportunity in South Hedland, where you’ll join a well-established Aboriginal Medical Service providing holistic, culturally safe care to the local community. You’ll work as part of a supportive team of four GPs, alongside nurses, midwives, Aboriginal Health Practitioners, child health specialists, and admin staff. Visiting medical specialists and allied health services further strengthen the care model.
The clinic operates Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm, using Communicare software. There are no hospital or nursing home obligations, and no after-hours or weekend work required.
Services include classic primary care with a focus on maternal and child health, chronic disease management, mental health, palliative and sexual health care, as well as some telehealth consultations. The clinic works closely with the Social and Emotional Wellbeing Centre, which includes an in-house counsellor, Tackling Indigenous Smoking Officers, and an NDIS support team.

Essential criteria
- Fellowship with RACGP and/or ACRRM
- Current AHPRA Specialist GP Registration
- Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Experience in Indigenous health desirable
- Cultural awareness and respect for Aboriginal communities
- Familiarity with Communicare software desirable
