The Placement

Rosebery is a laidback mining town perched at the edge of World Heritage wilderness. Hike through ancient rainforest to Montezuma Falls - Tasmania’s highest at 104m. Ride the technical Sterling Valley single track down Mount Murchison. Fish or paddle at Lake Rosebery. The Top Pub does a good meal.

Zeehan, 20 minutes away, was once Tasmania’s third largest town. Its Silver City heyday is still visible in the grand facades of Main Street and the 1898 Gaiety Theatre. The West Coast Heritage Centre houses one of the world’s finest mineral collections. Ride or walk the Spray Tunnel. Trial Harbour for surf and saltwater fishing. The Henty Dunes - sand dunes up to 30m high - are 32km down the road toward Strahan.

You’ll be the sole GP across both fully accredited practices - supported by experienced local nursing and admin teams at both sites. Best Practice software. One week or longer, flexible to your schedule.

How to Get There

Fly into Launceston or Hobart - Tasmania’s two main airports with the most flight options. From Launceston it’s around 3.5 hours to Rosebery; from Hobart around 4.5 hours. If you’d prefer to fly in the day before and drive fresh in the morning, we’ll arrange a night at a waterfront hotel - because that’s how Ochre looks after its doctors.
