The Port Augusta Hospital and Regional Health Service provides acute services ranging from in-hospital care for adults and children by local general practitioners to outpatients and aged care beds. Their staff work in close partnership with community health services and Aboriginal health providers to ensure that optimum care is delivered to all areas of the community. They also provide specific facilities and staff for Aboriginal patients.

This rural town has a population of roughly 13,800 individuals, 15% of whom identify as Aboriginal, and 12,000 emergency visits annually. The fifth-largest city in South Australia is Port Augusta.

If you are a garden lover, you'll come across gardens the like you've never seen before in Port Augusta. The Wadlata Outback Centre and Water Tower are a must to visit as is the Matthew Flinders Red Cliff Lookout for a different perspective on the region and ranges.
