A small town with everything you need.

Escape the crowded city life for a taste of the peaceful life in Scottsdale in the far north-east of Tassie. The region's landscape is typified by bright, green paddocks occupied by fruit and vegetable crops, dairy cows, and flower fields, all surrounded by blue-grey mountains.

The vibrant farming community is located 1 hour from Launceston. Explore the forest reserves by foot or mountain bike, or perhaps you'd prefer to visit the local galleries and cafes on your days off.  Thirty minutes north is the neighbouring coastal town of Bridport; test your golf skills on the iconic Barnbougle golf course or take a trip out to Granite Point Conservation area and watch the sun go down over Mermaids Beach.

Would a locum role at Scottsdale suit me?

You'll be working in the medical practice Monday to Friday with shared on-call for the hospital ED and the possibility of being rostered to cover the day clinic in the neighboring seaside town of Bridport.

Our Scottsdale practice has ongoing locum needs every week and we usually need 2 locum GP / VMO Doctors at each site. We have opportunities for GPs who enjoy working solely in the clinic as well as GP VMO locum jobs for those who wish to leverage their advanced ED skills in the local hospital.

  • You must be a vocationally registered GP (FRACGP or FACRRM)
  • For GP / ED Locums, you will need recent rural emergency experience and a current ALS2 (or equivalent) certificate.

For more information about locum work at Scottsdale, please get in touch with Nicole Langan on 0450 502 134 or register.

  • The thing I enjoy the most about is the people. I am dedicated to meeting their health needs, caring for them in times of health crises, enjoying the stories they share, seeing their resilience and the way they look after and care for each other.
