There's so much to do in and around St Helens

St Helens is another easy-going, picturesque coastal town in Tasmania’s north-east that thrives off its tourism, fishing, and timber industries and enjoys mild winters and warm summers.

Make the most of a perfect opportunity to see Tasmania's east coast attractions. St Helens is just over a 2 hr drive from Launceston and the perfect central location to explore Tasmania. A short drive north to Binalong Bay to visit the iconic "Bay of Fires" is a must-do where the warm sunlight beams over the white sand and orange lichen-covered boulders. Further down the coast on the Great Eastern Drive you can visit the Chain of Lagoons, Douglas Apsley Waterhole, Bicheno blowhole, or even go as far as Freycinet National Park showcasing some stunning granite mountain ranges.

What does a locum role look like at Helens?

At our St Helens practice, you'll join a friendly team dedicated to providing quality health service to the local community. You will be well looked after by the Practice Manager at the Medical Centre where you will work alongside other Doctors to see patients Monday to Friday at this modern GP Clinic. We have opportunities for GPs who enjoy working solely in the clinic as well as GP VMO locum jobs for those who wish to leverage their advanced ED skills in the local hospital.

  • You must be a vocationally registered GP (FRACGP or FACRRM)
  • For GP / ED Locums, you will need recent rural emergency experience and a current ALS2 (or equivalent) certificate.

For more information about locum work at St Helens, please get in touch with Phil Dixon on 0424 550 378 or register.
