The Opportunity

Inverell District Hospital is a 52-bed facility that provides services to the North-Western communities of NSW. There is also a Community Health Centre on campus which provides primary health care, as well as an extensive range of allied health services. The hospital recently underwent a refurbishment and now boasts modern and state-of-the-art facilities.

We have a commitment to provide ongoing Emergency Medicine Registrars and CMOs to the hospital. Shifts are 12 hours in duration from 8am - 8pm and 8pm to 8am where you will earn $2400 per shift.

Experienced VR GPs are also required for the GP FastTrack Clinic. The FastTrack clinic is open 9am - 6pm, 7 days a week, and is staffed by one VR GP. These opportunities are best suited to those doctors who enjoy working autonomously as the solo GP. There is onsite availability for both x-ray and CT Monday - Friday, with an on-call arrangement in place for after-hours presentations.

Due to the ongoing nature of this role, there is great potential to develop long-lasting relationships with patients and to watch them grow along their healthcare journey.

If you're an ED Locum Doctor or VR GP with full AHPRA registration and have a passion or curiosity for rural medicine, contact Naomie Rapira on 0498 441 118 for a no-obligation discussion. Alternatively, register your interest with us online.

Location

Inverell is nestled in a picturesque valley beside the Macintyre River close to the Queensland border. Known for its tin, sapphires, zircons, and diamonds, the township today boasts a mix of farming including wheat, grapes olives, maize, barley, and oats. It is a seven-hour drive from Sydney and just under five hours from Brisbane.

The town itself is a hub for families, teenagers, and retirees - so a good mix. There are markets at weekends and a cinema complex. There's a re-created Pioneer Village, a transport museum, and arts, crafts, and woodturning. For outdoor activities, you can go white water rafting on the Gwydir River during the summer season. Explore the bushland reserve at Goonoowigall or enjoy the Copeton Waters State Park.
